Moving forward

Nimbus was established nearly two decades ago as an independent consulting company for IT-security, data protection and technology consulting with the intention of providing the highest quality service and practicable solutions to clients with a timely and cost-effective implementation.

Security is a process, not a product.
— Bruce Schneier

Our competency can be accounted for by our long-standing assignment to innovative projects such as ISIS-MTT, European Bridge-CA, Signaturbündnis (Signature Alliance), and the telematics service infrastructure of the electronic health card (Gematik). Our referring clients are German and international IT-security companies as well as the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, and the Federal Office of Information Security.

Nimbus serves as an active member of, among others, the Vice-Chair of "Sichere Identität Berlin Brandenburg" (Secure Identity Berlin Brandenburg). Additionally, we contribute to committees and boards like the CA/Browser Forum, TeleTrusT, BITKOM, ECO and ETSI ESI. Within the framework of ETSI engagements, we helped develop several documents that now provide the basis for the European standard in security requirements for Trust Service Providers. We are at the forefront of expert knowledge in the field, demonstrated by our various invitations to speak at events such as the RSA Conference, ISSE, Asia PKI Forum, NIST and Omnicard Show.

We regularly publish our expert contributions about the topics of identity management and corresponding standardization. Our emphasis lies on new European guidelines from the Standardization Mandate 460 for PKI and the EU Regulation COM(2012) 238 for electronic identification and trust services for electronic transaction in the internal market.

If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.
— Abraham Maslow

Looking forward, we are actively engaged in and leading several projects to support the development of global market acceptance and saturation of EU models and standards for qualified trust services and audit schemes, and we are busy developing technology which will revolutionize strategic business and legal services in the coming years.

Ultimately, our goal is to build trust between networks, services, technology and most importantly, the people with whom we work and communicate every single day. Because trust is the cornerstone of our work here at Nimbus, we hope you will consider coming together with us to build a safe, secure and trustworthy future.
